We are looking for a BI Developer to join our growing Data Team. Being data-centric is one of our critical technology strategies. You will be developing and improving Power BI reports for different departments across Saltus. You will join a highly collaborative team. Saltus is an independently owned financial planning and discretionary investment management house. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality service for private clients, trusts, and smaller institutions. Saltus Partners was founded in 2004 and has grown organically and through a small number of carefully integrated acquisitions. Originally the business started out as an investment manager and has now developed the financial planning side of the offering, putting this at the forefront of the client relationship. Today Saltus manages and advises on over £3 billion of client assets, acquired through a combination of organic business growth and corporate acquisitions.


What will you be doing?

  • Design, develop and maintain PowerBI Dashboards tailored to meet specific needs of a diverse range of stakeholders that provide actionable insights.
  • Provide support to end-users and unable them to effectively use PowerBI for data exploration and reporting
  • Analysing  complex data sets to identify patterns, trends and generate new business insights.
  • Work with SQL to extract, transform, and load data for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
  • Optimise BI solutions for performance and scalability. Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all BI solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on how to use BI tools and interpret data.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a degree level qualification (2:1 or higher) ideally in a related field
  • Ideally 2 years experience in BI development, data analysis or similar
  • Has a can-do attitude – able to use initiative to bring about positive change and take initiative in spotting opportunities and finding ways to solve challenges with data
  • Proven experience in developing PowerBI Dashboards
  • Has strong data visualisation skills and experienced in using business intelligence tools
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Experience with Azure would be desirable
  • Thrives on problem solving and able to suggest solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
  • Passion for data-driven insights and their impact on business performance

Where will I be working?

We are looking for someone to work from our Whiteley office, and offer hybrid working, which includes 2 days in the office, with the remainder at home. We’re incredibly flexible about when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for. The salary is £40,000 – £60,000 depending on experience, alongside 28 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), life assurance, income protection and a pension, alongside access to our flexible benefits platform.
