Saltus appoints Andrew Fleming to chair Saltus Asset Management

3 August 2021

Saltus Asset Management has appointed Andrew Fleming as Chairman.

The appointment will see Fleming take on the newly created role to lead Saltus’ investment arm, supporting its ambitions to strengthen the investment proposition and accelerate growth.

Andrew’s arrival coincides with Saltus winning its first substantial Outsourced CIO mandate for a £100m private family office earlier this month.

Andrew was previously Chief Executive of Waverton Investment Management.  Before that he was Chief Executive of Kames Capital – a £37 billion fund and institutional investment management firm -where he was responsible for the hugely successful growth and rebranding strategy. It has since been reabsorbed into Aegon Asset Management.  He also advises wealthy families and is currently Non-Executive Director of Polar Global Healthcare Trust and a trustee of The Rank Foundation where he chairs the investment committee.

Andrew Fleming, Chairman, Saltus Asset Management, said: “I’m looking forward to joining the Saltus team to further the firm’s institutional quality offering. This is an incredibly exciting time for the business as we embark on a period of significant growth. Saltus has a long track record and expertise in managing multi-asset portfolios, including a focus on private assets.  It is a business that has huge potential in the years ahead, and I am delighted to be a part of the team driving the future direction of the business.”

Jon Macintosh, Saltus group Managing Partner, said: “Andrew brings a wealth of experience to the role, having operated at the highest levels as an investor and business leader. His expertise and insights will ensure that Saltus’s clients benefit from the highest standards of investment management and I look forward to working closely with him in the years ahead.”

Saltus provides investment management services and financial planning solutions to private clients and smaller institutions in the UK. It was founded in 2004 as an investment management firm and has gradually expanded its services, launching Saltus Financial Planning in 2015. The firm currently employs nearly 100 people.
