Michael specialises in later-life financial planning, working closely with senior members of the community and their families, often in collaboration with solicitors and accountants, to help navigate some of life’s most complex financial decisions. His expertise spans retirement income planning, estate structuring with trusts, and addressing the growing challenges around funding long term care.
Michael has been involved in financial services in a regulated capacity since 1985, beginning his career with Sun Life, where he presented investment seminars and advised clients – many of whom he continues to serve today. In 1991, he founded his own IFA practice in Bath, later joining Beckford James which merged with Saltus in 2022.
Michael leverages his extensive experience to help senior clients and their families navigate the complexities of later-life financial planning, from retirement income to estate and care funding.
At home...
Michael lives in a village just outside of Bath and, when not at his desk, enjoys spending time with his family, tending to the garden, walking to local hostelries, and travelling abroad. He is a follower of Bath Rugby, Formula 1 motor racing, and Liverpool FC. He also has a large, dormant model railway that now requires attention – for the benefit of his grandchildren.
