Fraud Blocker BI Analyst | Saltus

August 2026

BI Analyst

We are looking for a BI Analyst to build and deliver Power BI reports and dashboards that turn our data into clear, actionable insight for the business.

Building high-quality reports against requirements agreed with stakeholders is the core focus of the role. That is supported by the data modelling and querying needed to make those reports accurate and performant, and by documenting the work so it can be picked up and maintained by others.

This is a hands-on role with real visibility and the work you produce will be used daily by teams across the business.

Why Saltus?

Our mission is to improve everyone’s relationship with their wealth: to make it a positive force for their future and at the same time to prevent it being a source of anxiety. We want everyone who works at Saltus to be proud to work here, and to find fulfilment and meaning in the work that they do

We are incredibly proud of our culture and work really hard to ensure that Saltus is a great place to work for our people, where they can have fun and grow in their career, with a passion for excellence and customer service.

We’re proud that we’ve been recognized as a winner by the Sunday Times in the Best Places to Work 2024 awards, as well as a winner in the Professional Adviser awards 2024 for the Best Financial Advisers to Work For. These accolades reflect our commitment to creating an exceptional work environment and our dedication to excellence in the financial industry. Join our award-winning team and be a part of our continued success!

Saltus is a privately owned financial planning and discretionary investment management house. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality service for private clients, trusts, and smaller institutions.

Saltus Partners was founded in 2004 and has grown organically and through a small number of carefully integrated acquisitions. Originally the business started out as an investment manager and has now developed the financial planning side of the offering, putting this at the forefront of the client relationship.

Today Saltus manages and advises on over £11 billion of client assets, acquired through a combination of organic business growth and corporate acquisitions.

What does this role look like?

  • Develop, publish and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that are accurate, performant and easy for the business to self-serve from.
  • Work from requirements provided by the BA, reviewing them with the BA and challenging anything unclear or incomplete before development starts
  • Work through the BA as the point of contact for stakeholders, keeping them updated on progress and raising anything that puts a delivery date at risk
  • Build calculations, measures and semantic models using DAX.
  • Shape, clean and combine data using M / Power Query, with resilient error handling.
  • Write SQL to investigate, validate and source the data behind your reports.
  • Set up and manage deployment pipelines and workspaces in the Power BI Service, including refresh schedules and access.
  • Test your work thoroughly, review colleagues’ reports and have your own reviewed, and support UAT before release
  • Write procedures and technical documentation covering report logic, calculations and any automation, so others can support and extend what you build.
  • Spot issues in the data — gaps, duplicates, figures that don’t look right — and raises them rather than reporting them as-is
  • Optimise reports for performance and scalability and look after data accuracy and integrity throughout.
  • Notice patterns and trends in the data and brings them to the business’s attention

What we are looking for:

Essential

  • 3+ years building and publishing Power BI reports and dashboards used daily by a business
  • Designs semantic models from scratch — relationships, understands why it matters for performance
  • Confident with DAX beyond the basics: time intelligence, filter context, variables, iterators
  • Strong Power Query / M — shaping and combining messy sources with error handling that doesn’t break on refresh
  • Hands-on with the Power BI Service: workspaces, deployment pipelines, refresh schedules, gateways, access and row-level security
  • Optimises for performance and can explain what was slow and why
  • Experience administering the Power BI Service — workspaces, deployment pipelines, gateways, row-level security.
  • Documents what they build the logic, calculations, refresh setup so someone else can support it
  • Well organised, with a track record of delivering to agreed timescales
  • Naturally curious about the data: notices anomalies, breaks and emerging trends, and flags them to the business

Desirable

  • Experience administering the Power BI Service including workspaces, deployment pipelines, gateways, row-level security.
  • Power Automate, or other workflow automation connected to reporting.
  • Familiarity with version control and a structured release or UAT process.
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management or another regulated environment.
