Introduction

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to join our team. IT is responsible for the effective day-to day running of the technology infrastructure and applications. The primary focus of the department is to ensure that our colleagues have the technology available to do their jobs as effectively and efficiently as possible. This includes proactive monitoring of the infrastructure and active management of the service desk, to ensure user issues are resolved as early as possible.

Roles and Responsibilities

IT is responsible for:

  • Providing support for internal users and self-employed advisers
  • Ensuring that users have the availability of infrastructure and applications to perform their day-to-day roles
  • Proactively maintaining and developing the infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance
  • Actively managing 3rd party vendors to ensure a high level of service and value for money

As an IT Manager, the key areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Proactively manage the technology infrastructure and applications
  • Oversee and manage the IT team
  • Ensure day-to-day user support remains at a high level and user issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Take ownership of user management lifecycle, including new starter/leaver hardware, accounts, including application provision and decommissioning
  • Ensure provision and support of Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS operating systems
  • Manage and administer Microsoft 365
  • Manage and Administer Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Manage user application/data access
  • Proactively manage IT budget
  • Manage application licenses and ensure accurate provision
  • Proactively engage with 3rd party vendors and ensure service levels meet the needs of the business
  • Manage and provision user telephony
  • Manage and provision mobile telephony
  • Manage and support printer fleet
  • Be workstream lead for M&A activity. Including discovery, migration planning, management, and implementation
  • Provide post-migration user, infrastructure, application support and integration
  • Identify, communicate and review team KPI’s
  • Be the key main point of contact for Senior Management & Partners
  • Co-ordinate, distribute, monitor and work on IT projects
  • Support the evaluation, selection and deployment of new applications or tools across the business
  • Head the continual development of new technology, IT systems and automation within the company
  • Be willing to get involved in other projects within the business, which may occur from time to time, that fall within your capabilities

What sort of person are we looking for?

We think that the best candidate for this role will have:

  • Have a University degree, ideally in computer science or IT discipline
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in an IT management position
  • Have experience managing and administering both Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Have strong communication skills and able to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
  • Be happy to work in a busy and sometimes stressful environment, whilst maintaining a calm demeanour, in order to manage different deadlines
  • Have a strong attention to detail with a real focus on accuracy
  • Have Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with the end users of technology

Where will I be working?

We’re incredibly flexible about where, when, and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for. You will be based out of our Whiteley office for 2-3 days each week, working the remainder of the week from home. You’ll also need to be able to travel to our other office locations, as required by the role. The role is 40 hours per week to be worked between the hours of 8:30-5.30pm with a salary up to £62,000 per year, depending on experience.
