March 2024

MD of The Saltus Partnership (RIs)

We are seeking an MD of The Saltus Partnership (RIs) who will be a key driver of the Saltus vision. You will be responsible for overseeing the strategic delivery and smooth operations of Saltus’ fastest growing division, focused on recruiting and managing self-employed advisers.  You will be a core member of the Executive Committee and a high-profile leader within the business. You will be joining a fast-moving wealth management organisation at an exciting time in our journey.

Why Saltus?

Our mission is to improve everyone’s relationship with their wealth: to make it a positive force for their future and at the same time to prevent it being a source of anxiety. We want everyone who works at Saltus to be proud to work here, and to find fulfilment and meaning in the work that they do.

We are a successful, privately owned, LLP, with a number of offices in the South of England including London, Whiteley and Farnham. We are incredibly proud of our culture and work really hard to ensure that Saltus is a great place to work for our people, where they can have fun and grow in their career, with a passion for excellence and customer service.

Saltus is an independently owned financial planning and discretionary investment management house. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality service for private clients, trusts, and smaller institutions.

Saltus was founded in 2004 and has grown organically and through a small number of carefully integrated acquisitions. Originally the business started out as an investment manager and has now developed the financial planning side of the offering, putting this at the forefront of the client relationship.

Today Saltus manages and advises on over £4 billion of client assets and is headquartered in Fareham, Hampshire.

The Saltus Partnership is Saltus’ fastest growing division.  It offers an innovative combination of technology, compliance oversight, administrative support, and funding packages, combined with an award-winning product suite, to high calibre and ambitious independent financial advisers, who wish to retain control of their destiny, by joining Saltus as self-employed registered individuals.

We are looking to grow this business aggressively, taking advantage of the current market turmoil facing existing restricted and traditional network businesses, as well as those dissatisfied in employed roles looking to gain greater control over their future.

Can you tell me more about the role?

We are looking for an entrepreneurial growth-oriented individual, with a demonstrable track record of managing advisers, probably in an appointed rep or self-employed business model.  The role will balance managing a smooth and efficient operation, providing excellent customer service to both the advisers and their clients alike, managing the back-office functions and aggressively recruiting advisors.  You will be an excellent people manager, combining strategic thinking with best-in-class commercial acumen.

What skills and experience do I need to have?

You are probably a qualified adviser by background, even if you are no longer advising clients.  You will have worked for a decade or more within roles where you can demonstrate your ability to manage a direct salesforce and/or independent financial advisers and help them grow their practice whilst always focusing on great client outcomes and a rigorous adherence to the highest regulatory standards.

Where will I be working?

We’re incredibly flexible about where, when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for. You will be able to base yourself in any one of Saltus’ offices in London, the South or West of England, or South Wales, or potentially to build a new operational hub to support this business.

What benefits do I get when working for Saltus?

Salary and package are designed to attract the best, including a significant equity LTIP. You would be expected to join Saltus as an equity partner, and as a core member of the senior executive team. You’ll get 28 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), private medical insurance, life assurance and income protection. Just as importantly, you’ll get to experience our culture, which we really do live and breathe, ensuring that Saltus is a fantastic place to work for every single one of our 200+ people. If you think you’d like to come and join us, then please do get in touch… we’d love to hear from you!
